column_border_width=&#8221;none&#8221; column_border_style=&#8221;solid&#8221;][vc_column_text]\n<p data-start=\"58\" data-end=\"838\">The group\u2019s expertise connects the<strong> internal structure of material systems<\/strong> across a wide range of input materials\u2014considering <strong>phase composition<\/strong> (e.g. gel systems, colloidal dispersions, micellar systems, nanocomposites, interfacial surfaces), <strong>chemical composition<\/strong> (e.g. biopolymer systems, synthetic polymers, mineral inorganic systems, active pharmaceutical ingredients, composite materials), and <strong>final morphological forms<\/strong> (e.g. porous foam systems, solid bodies, laminated layers). These are studied in relation to their resulting <strong>physicochemical, biological, and material performance properties<\/strong>, such as strength, flexibility, hardness, fluidity, brittleness, toughness, adhesiveness, biocompatibility, wettability, surface topology, surface energy distribution, and others.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"840\" data-end=\"1403\">The group\u2019s activities have a strong international dimension, involving collaboration with research teams abroad (e.g. University of Birmingham, University of New Orleans, Polish Academy of Sciences in Krakow, Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava, Ghent University, among others). A significant part of the work is also connected to applied industrial research, with current implementation of EP 3 034 693 B1 (2018) in manufacturing processes. The <a href=\"https:\/\/molmedb.upol.cz\/\">MolMeDB<\/a> database collects physicochemical data on interactions of low-molecular-weight compounds with membranes (<a class=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/molmedb.upol.cz\/\" target=\"_new\" rel=\"noopener\" data-start=\"264\" data-end=\"288\">https:\/\/molmedb.upol.cz\/<\/a>).
